Zenni Optics
I know I had spoke about Zenni Optics lots of time in my blog, but this time I want to share this news with you all again.
As we all know, Zenni Optics is one of the 1st in the world who sell specs to customers online. Besides that, it is one of the online stores that provide cheapest spectacles. Many of you might wonder that why can they selling those specs at such a low price, are they low in quality? Pirated? 2nd handed? None of them, they can give us such a low price is all because of they get their stocks directly from the manufacturers, so deducting the middleman expenses, we can get the low price but same quality specs!
Just to let you know, Zenni Optics is recommended by one of the US Talk radio!! Congratulation to their success.
I love Zenni Optics, not because of their low price, but also wide selections of eyeglasses. They are really success in this. They also provide you with different type of lens, for example single vision lens, bifocal lens, photosensitive lens and lots more. You can choose it when you purchase your spectacles.

FOXCONN Launches Second Green G45-based Motherboard
FOXCONN GREEN Series Motherboard combines energy efficiency and HD graphics Energy efficient computing in high definition
FOXCONN today launched the second motherboard in its expanding GREEN Series, with the G45MG based on the Intel G45 chipset.
First demonstrated at CeBIT 2008, the new GREEN Series range affords system builders, resellers and end users the capability to configure highly energy efficient computing solutions for business and home use. Innovative power management technologies combine to reward users with a significantly lower TCO (total cost of ownership) without adversely affecting system performance.
Completed by the GREEN Series power supply GPS300AB, the new motherboard and power supply in combination deliver incredible reductions in energy consumption for home and business users.
The G45MG launched today includes the integrated Intel X4500HD graphics core and support for the latest Intel Core2 Quad and Core2 Duo processors up to 95W power rating and up to 1600(o.c)/1333MHz FSB. Up to 8GB of Dual Channel DDR3 1333MHz memory can be installed, bringing improved memory performance to business and mainstream home computers.
Ready for high-definition video
The G45MG is a highly capable integrated HD graphics platform, ready to play Blu-Ray and HD DVD content without upgrading the onboard graphics. The integrated Intel GMA 4500HD graphics processor not only includes encoding/decoding technologies for HD video, but also provides DirectX 10 graphics for the latest games titles. With 3.0X the 3D performance of the Intel G33 chipset and and 1.7X the 3D performance of the Intel G35 Express chipset graphics, the list of playable games has grown significantly, saving many home users the additional cost of installing a dedicated graphics card.
The onboard HDMI output means users can easily user their system as a home media centre running with a HD-ready television or monitor.
3G technologies
The new motherboard includes FOXCONN’s proprietary 3G technologies which are designed to reduce power consumption, typically by around 68%*.
3G technologies comprise of GPS (Green Power Saving), GoD (Green on Demand) and GSM (Green System Mode).
GPS reduces power consumption in standby or ‘power off’ mode by around 99.4% by combining with the GREEN Series GPS300AB power supply, which significantly reduces the power draw from the computer.
GPS300AB can achieve at least minimum 80% efficiency under any condition
,and also delivers power savings by operating with higher efficiency under heavy and low loading, and can deliver up to 300W of power when required. When in GPS mode,GPS300AB is very small input power(less than 1W),and have good performance in ripple and noise.
GoD technology intelligently manages the multi-phase power distribution on the motherboard, reducing the number of power phases in operation during low-loading periods, and increasing the number of phases when the computer is under heavy loading. This technique improves energy efficiency when the computer is operational, especially during light usage, where energy savings from single-phase power distribution are significant.
Finally GSM (Green System Mode) combines a number of BIOS and system settings to further enhance energy efficiency in all usage states.
Test Specification
CPU: Intel Q6850. Memory: MICRON 2GB. HDD: MAXTOR SATA 250GB. Power supply: Samsung 280W. Onboard VGA. Only connect KB/MS and one HDD
Tests conducted in FOXCONN laboratories and demonstrated at Computex 2008 have shown typical energy savings of around 69%* for an office PC scenario, where the system may be powered off or in standby mode for a large part of any 24hr period, and running under light loading for much of the day, with intermittent heavier loading. A family ‘home PC’ usage scenario has demonstrated even greater savings – around 85.1%, with the PC in standby or ‘power off’ mode for most of the day.
A large business with 200 PCs would make significant financial savings from GREEN Series technology. Based on an energy cost of US$0.30 per kWh and a 24hr usage profile of 15hrs standby/power off, 7hrs idle and 2hrs heavy loading (averaged), the annual financial saving would total around US$5,000.
Commenting on today’s launch, Eric Chu, Product Manager for GREEN Series motherboards said; “G45MG combines the latest high-definition video technologies with energy-efficient management systems to deliver great performance and value for business and mainstream home users. GREEN Series motherboards are the only solution to deliver energy savings in all power and usage states.”
G45MG also includes FOX Energy Management, which controls system and CPU power management technologies from a simple Windows application and also enables one-touch overclocking.
In addition to the power-saving technologies, FOXCONN have bundled FOCUS (advanced audio calibration software) and FoxOne™ technology, for easy system monitoring(temperatures, fans speeds, voltages ) and automatic overclocking
G45MG also use 100% SOLID Capacitor design to improve component reliability, by replacing electrolytic capacitors with solid versions; this removes the risk of capacitor failure damaging the PCB and surrounding components, whilst improving overall system performance and stability. Solid capacitors are much more durable than standard electrolytic versions, typically lasting around 6 times longer and withstanding higher operating temperatures.
Other features include integrated 7.1 channel HD audio, Gigabit LAN, 6* SATAII connectors with Intel Matrix Storage Technology and RAID, 1* IEEE1394a (FireWire), 12* USB2.0,1* HDMI, 1*TPM Header and a graphics upgrade path via the PCIe2.0 x16 slot.
* All power savings depend upon usage pattern and exact system configuration.

Transcend Recognized as one of Taiwan's Top 20
The results of the “Taiwan Top 20 Global Brands” award by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs were revealed on September 30, and Transcend once again was honored as one of Taiwan’s Top 20 global brands. In addition, Transcend‘s brand value is currently at US$ 244 million – 36% higher than last year’s value. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Transcend has been listed in the Top 20, proving the effectiveness of its recent brand management strategies.
Since its founding in 1988, Transcend has made brand image its number one priority by consistently focusing on its own-brand business. With superior product quality and excellent customer service, Transcend maintains a vast, loyal customer base. Its comprehensive network of 13 offices worldwide has not only made Transcend a highly diversified international enterprise, but has also established the company as a fast-growing global memory brand. In Business Week magazine`s 2008 InfoTech 100, a list of the world`s top 100 technology companies, Transcend currently ranks a respectable No. 62 overall, and No. 7 in the semiconductor industry.
The Taiwan Top 20 Global Brands study has been evaluating Taiwan’s leading companies for six years. The brand valuation methodology used in assessing Taiwan’s international brands is the same one used for BusinessWeek magazine’s “Top 100 Global Brands.” Developed by the British consulting firm Interbrand, this model uses a combination of quantitative financial analysis and qualitative indicator interpretation to rank companies by overall brand value.

Caller base
I forgot to bring my phone today to class. I was too careless! Went back home and found out I had lots of missed calls. And most of them are unknown to me.
Normally I would not care about this. Because I think if they need to find me, they will call me back again. But now, I’m applying jobs from several companies. I need to wait for their replies. Maybe one of this unknown numbers is from them.
Too bad that my telco company does not want to help and I have to google about it. I found reverse phone directory is pretty useful and now I managed to find out who are them.

Razer Salmosa Gaming Mouse
Lightweight, Heavy Punch
Ever since Razer launched the now legendary Boomslang back in 1999, it has established itself as the premier gaming-grade mice-maker. Since then, it has launched a flurry of gaming mice, all named after snakes. So it is no surprise then to find that Razer's latest offering is once again named after a snake - the Salmosa. This is actually a species of venomous pitviper found in Korea, and it is also now Razer's newest entry level mouse. Does it have what it takes to play with the big boys?
Black as Night
Like most Razer products, the Salmosa is completely decked out in black. Some might find it dull and boring, but we think it looks classy and perfectly understated. Unlike the higher-end Razer mice however, such as the Diamondback 3G, it doesn't glow.
On first glance, the Salmosa appears to be aptly named, because the Salmosa pitviper happens to one of the smaller of the species and this new mouse is small and compact and seems almost designed for smaller Asian hands.
In addition to its compact size, Razer says that the Salmosa was specially designed for gamers who prefer to grip their mice using their finger-tips, which explains the somewhat awkward design. To be frank, the Salmosa can be a bit too small for those of us with larger hands, and the odd shape of the Salmosa requires the users to adapt, if only a little.
Small, but Deadly
Looking past the Salmosa's petite size, you'll discover that the Salmosa is indeed an entry level mouse - it has only three buttons: left and right mouse buttons and a scroll wheel button. It is very basic.
However, do not be deceived by the Salmosa's appearance. Although it does not boast multiple programmable buttons like the flagship Lachesis model, it is however very fast. Thanks to its small size and light weight, we found it an absolute bliss to use, especially in RTS games where constant mouse actions are absolutely necessary to effectively micro-manage your units. It is also super slick, almost like silken tofu, thanks to its Teflon feet. The experience is further enhanced by the Salmosa's extra-large non-slip buttons, which ensures your fingers do not slip at a crucial moment.
That is not all though, as the Salmosa still has a couple of tricks up its sleeves. Turning the Salmosa over, you'll find two switches that allows users to switch the Salmosa's polling and DPI sampling rate on the fly, without the need for any software drivers. DPI can be switched between 800 and 1800, whereas polling rate can be tweaked from a low of 125Hz to 500Hz and 1000Hz. This should come in useful when playing FPS games, though you'll likely to be doing that while waiting for your character to respawn since it's difficult to do that when you're actually playing. Razer should consider placing the switches at a more handy location.
Final Thoughts
All in all, Razer has another winner in the Salmosa. It might have very basic features, but it is really light and fast. If the Lachesis is the high-tech Ferrari Scuderia in the world of gaming mice, then the Salmosa is the equivalent of the Lotus Elise. And though the Salmosa is positioned by Razer as an entry level mouse, do not expect to pay "entry level" prices. This is after all a Razer. At US$39.99, it is certainly not cheap, but if you are serious about gaming, and you want a high quality mouse, then you certainly can't go wrong with the Salmosa.

Obama on the iPhone
With the U.S. presidential election only about a month away, an interesting application has surfaced for the iPhone - the Obama iPhone application - and it does much more than just allowing users to find out more about the candidate, read his latest news and watch his campaign videos.
The New York Times - Most significantly, the application organizes the user’s phone contacts to highlight those in swing states. It asks users to call their friends in those states to vote for Senator Obama. Users then can identify who they called and what their response was. The options include “Not Interested,” “Considering Obama” and “Already Voted.”

Google Lets You Search Like Its 2001
Ever wondered what using Google was like in 2001? Wonder no more, because Google, as part of their ongoing 10th anniversary celebration, has dug up their oldest search index available, allowing users to search like it was back in 2001.
Computerworld - Although Google is officially celebrating its 10th birthday this year, due to various "technical reasons," the oldest index it could easily access was the 2001 version, the company said.
"Amazingly enough, hidden in a corner beneath Larry's and Sergey's original lab coats, we found a vintage search index in mint condition," noted Google in a blog post. "We dusted it off and took it for a spin, gobsmacked to see how different the web was in early 2001. 'iPod' did not refer to a music player, 'YouTube' was nonsense, and if you were looking for Michael Phelps chances are you meant the scientist, not the swimmer. [And] Wikipedia was brand new."

BenQ Goes Green with New 18.5" LCD
With 16:9 aspect ratio fast becoming the new global standard among panel manufacturers, BenQ continues to distinguish its brand from the competition with innovation and industry-leading technologies that today include "ultra-green" 16:9 High Definition 720p models for reduced environmental impact and enhanced cost-performance.
The company's latest LCD monitors - the BenQ E900HD and G900HD feature popular 16:9 format for superior display of HD content as well as a unique 2-lamp design that still emits the bright 300 nits (The candela per square metre {cd/m²} is the SI unit of luminance; nit is a non-SI name) of 4-lamp models, all while saving substantial energy and greatly lessening carbon dioxide and mercury emissions.
These two new models complement BenQ's HD 16:9 LCD Monitor Series to be released in the Philippines this October, and transplant HD visual enjoyment from living room to desktop gaming, work, and video watching.
Greener is Simply Better
The glossy black BenQ E900HD and silver, black BenQ G900HD LCD monitors not only resonate BenQ's leadership in visual display with the latest 16:9 format and smart user essentials, but also reflect BenQ's dedication to environmental responsibility.
The risks and impacts caused by global warming over the last decades have greatly concerned the international community. Environmentalists around the world have gone to great lengths to effectively create awareness on alarming issues such as carbon dioxide reduction and energy conservation.
BenQ – as a global citizen and an eager participant in making the earth a better place to live – is more than ready to do its part. The BenQ team has designed an exclusive energy-saving technology in developing its latest 18.5" LCD monitor – replacing the traditional four-lamp apparatus with two without affecting the brightness of the monitor screen. BenQ's 2-lamp design features several benefits over conventional 4-lamp displays.
The BenQ 18.5" LCD Monitor models still maintain a 300-nits brightness and 10,000:1 DCR (dynamic contrast ratio), but use only 30W total power. The 10000:1 DCR technology help review even the finest detail especially in darkened and complex motion pictures, providing you with clearer, smoother image during movies and video games. Through this technology, BenQ LCD Monitor users can cut down power consumption by 25% and decrease carbon dioxide by 25%.
With these new models, BenQ demonstrate how enjoyment extends far beyond hardware and technology, but to the natural world as well. With BenQ's new low-energy, low-emission LCD Monitor models, we hope to set the trend not only for 16:9 format, but social and environmental responsibility.
Expanding HD Enjoyment Everywhere
Among the offerings of BenQ's new 16:9 HD Series LCD Monitors, the new E and G 18.5" models nonetheless unify today's digital lifestyle enjoyment by expanding HD viewing application from limited living room use to boundless possibilities in the study, office, classroom, bedroom, kitchen, and more.
A common native resolution used in HD Ready LCD TV panels is 1366 x 768 pixels instead of the ATSC Standard 1280 x 720 pixels. This is due to maximization of manufacturing yield and resolution of VGA, VRAM that comes with a 768 pixel format. Hence, LCD manufacturers adopt the 16:9 ratio compatible for the HD Ready 1080p video standard.
If you have content in 16:9 format and you want to project it onto a 16:10 or 4:3 monitor, your image won't be able to fill the whole screen. You'll see two black bands above and below the picture. You can choose to distort your picture, or else zoom in a little to fill up the entire space, but those aren't very satisfactory workarounds
With the new BenQ monitors, all multimedia, work and gaming applications are beautifully displayed via a smooth 5ms response time, 720p high definition. Image quality is also rendered flawless with an ultra-high 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio that intensifies blacks to reveal subtle dark details in superb definition.
Both models of BenQ feature convenient D-Sub input and DVI-D with HDCP. The E900HD further features headphone jack and integrated speakers. Both BenQ models - the BenQ E900HD and G900HD LCD monitors are Vista Premium certified.
The BenQ Group is currently comprised of 12 companies that operate independently while sharing resources and leveraging synergies among them. BenQ Corporation, a leading provider of networked digital lifestyle devices, is a multi-faceted company with strengths in mobile communications, visual display and network convergence technologies. BenQ offers unrivalled breadth and depth of products and integrating technologies across platforms through the brand promise of "Enjoyment Matters". In a short span of only six years, BenQ has received global recognition with 183 top international design awards for the successful blending of subtle minimalism with touches of
luxury. BenQ extracts the essence of Asian design fluidity and infuses it with modern technology and thus has created an elegant design that's totally unique to BenQ.
