Just another 19 hours, I will be leaving from here to Moscow, Capital of Russia! I have been there once in year 2005 for 3 days 2 nights. Moscow is so big that 3 days are not enough for you to explore everything and it is now world no.1 highest expenses city(metropolitan), higher than Tokyo, New York and London.
Our Malaysia Capital Kuala Lumpur, nothing can be compared with Moscow except the people! I said people because people in Moscow almost like robots, they are programmed to make money and for their heavy lifestyle.
Today around 12noon, we went to Visa department to ask some question and then straight went to Kursk Train Station to get the tickets. It is so funny, there are only 2 counters working, 1 with long queue and another one with nobody, NOBODY!! Why?? I went closer for a look, 'service counter' commission 120rubles. Cashier asked me, "Can I help you?" I quickly said "No, thanks" and continue to queue at the long queue there. I'm not going to buy at that '1st class' counter! The price for 1 seat now is 665rubles (25US dollars) including insurances. Compared to 3 years back, it was only 500rubles!!

New glasses for new year!
I just complain to Adeline that my glasses work not so fine right now. She said not only work not fine and really OLD! Hmm.. I guess she is right! My glasses already aged 2 years old and the frame paints are all gone. Making a new pair of glasses at Kursk here will cost you few hundred US dollars, so it is not worth!
Just random surfing, I found this Zenni Optical: Sell Rx Glasses $8 with case!!. They sell everything related to glasses. All are new fashion! You can’t find it in market right now, because they make especially for you! Sound like expensive? No, you’re wrong. It cost you only 8 US dollar!! So cheap!!
I think I should make 1 for my Chinese New Year.
How about you?

Breast feeding or Bottle feeding?
This whole week, I’m preparing my pediatrics exam. Last night I cover 1 topic which caught my attention. It is about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is the most ancient way to give the baby nutrition, as the new era coming, lesser and lesser mothers prefer breast feeding. Lately, doctors and scientist found out that breast feeding mother can reduce the tendency of getting breast cancer, and now once again breast feeding became a recommendation for all mothers. Baby with breast feeding grow healthier and happier. Don’t you think so?
Due to some problems, breast feeding still not available for all mothers, maybe the mothers are career women, they don’t have much time for breast feed their own child. Some of them prefer to use the alternative way of baby’s nutrition. Bottle feeding with formula milk, either the milk from animal origin or not, it is a way for them. Some of them might store their breast milk at a bottle, and later put into baby feeding bottle, for their children to drink while they are not at home. A clean and good baby bottle is very important. There is a website teaching you on how to choose and breast feed. It is provided by tommeetippee.co.uk

Skills
Every day we can see new building construction, we see lots of signs “safety first”. All these are to ensure the safety of workers at constructions sites. But still the accident rates in constructions sites are high, chronic disease for example, pulmonary disease and cardiovascular disease, for acute disease such as trauma, fractures.
To ensure the full health and safety of everyone is construction sites, we should take lots of pre-caution measures. Both employers and workers must work together in order to have safe working environment.
Employers should take constant training and learning to satisfy the business needs; new talents are needed for the continued success of the business. If you’re new and fresh graduate, you can start with apprenticeship, the knowledge you gained from College will be trained and redevelop into your practical. It will be recognized through NVQ/SVQs
For workers, prove your skills and experiences to get qualifications through On-Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) or Experience Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA). The more you get the better you are.
In 2010, it will be not simple, so get ready for it.

Windows give freeware
After hearing that Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has decided to finally do away with Windows Genuine Advantage, I realized there was one enormous repercussion: It puts Windows Vista and Linux on a far more even footing than ever before. And it essentially makes Vista into freeware, but that's just a handy side effect.
First, the details. After a lot of negative feedback from all quarters about how Windows Genuine Advantage was, quite simply, too flaky to work properly in a real-world scenario, Microsoft has decided to change the way WGA works in Windows Vista. Right now, if you don't choose to activate a system after the timeout period, or if it's shown not to be genuine, the system gives you a three-day warning period and then enters "reduced functionality mode." After Vista SP1, the worst that will happen is a warning notice that forces a 15-second delay at login, and a reminder every hour on the hour to activate.
In short, after Vista SP1, anyone can run a fully functional copy of Windows Vista without having to pay for it.
That said, I'm fairly certain that Microsoft knows this, and is, in a way, banking on it to offset the growth of Linux. You'd never get it to admit it, of course.
First, Microsoft would rather run the risk of losing a little money upfront at the cost of having that many more copies of Windows running in whatever form. What people tend to forget is that as long as someone, anyone, is running Windows, even if they didn't pay for it, Microsoft still wins. They're providing that much more of a space for Windows software of any kind to run in, which for Microsoft is always a winning proposition.
Think about it: That many more copies of Windows means that many more copies of Office, that many more copies of the development environments used to build Windows software, that many more copies of games that require Windows, and so on. All of that is, in one form or another, money back into Microsoft's pocket. Yes, Windows programs also do run on Wine -- but I suspect people are not going to bother to try running Wine in Linux if Windows itself is that much more readily available anyway.
Second, most people will still pay for a copy of Windows, and pay gladly. Most copies of Windows are sold with a new PC, not as a boxed product, and as long as the OEM market decides Windows is still worth preloading onto PCs, Microsoft comes out ahead. Maybe it won't make the kind of money it could have been making if WGA was bulletproof, but WGA isn't bulletproof -- no copy-protection system ever is. However, if Linux OEM desktop sales start booming and eat significantly into Windows OEM desktop sales, this revenue stream isn't going to be guaranteed, either.
Third, running unlicensed copies of Windows is a big no-no if you're a business of any kind. Businesses will probably not want to run the risk of being audited by the BSA if someone within their company reports them -- that is, if they continue to use Windows at all and don't simply decide to switch to Linux and avoid licensing hassles completely. That, of course, depends on what they're doing, and whether or not they can easily replace Windows with Linux, but you get the idea.
Fourth, the fact that Microsoft is offering discounted Windows licenses to people who report unlicensed copies also is part of this strategy. There are many instances of both users and resellers who got burned by buying what they thought were legit copies of Windows, and that's indisputably a problem worth tackling. Nobody likes getting taken for a ride.
That said, the latter almost sounds like an incentive to pirate Windows. Steal a copy, run it for a while, then apply for a reduced-cost license -- or, don't even bother, just put up with the nag box whenever it appears. I know of almost no one who would consider a perpetual nag box (like, say, UAC) much of a show-stopper to running Windows at no cost. But, again, Microsoft is betting at least some people will take advantage of it, which in the end puts money back in its pockets once more.
I suspect Microsoft has started to think about this situation in something of the same way the record labels are starting to think about DRM-free downloads. It's better to make some money upfront, even if imperfectly, than it is to lose money preemptively by alienating many of their potential or current customers. Plus, if Microsoft rebuilds some burned bridges this way, it will be good for the company -- especially since it could, in time, lose just about everything to software that costs just about nothing.

Software Cooperative Launches Free Windows Apps
In celebration of the new year, software cooperative DonationCoder.com has released more than a dozen free Windows applications that range from the useful to the whimsical.
The site, which has more than 42,000 registered members and about 1,800 software contributors, holds its New Apps for the New Year challenge every year. This year's event reaped 16 programs. While the software is free, donations to the author are encouraged.
Among the 2008 bounty is WTF? Music Info, which offers the lowdown on a person's digital music collection. The program provides a visual depiction of stats based on artist, genre, or year. "I intend on building this up in the future, but for now it's a neat little app to let you know what you got," the author, who goes by the name of "seedling," said on the site.
For slackers, app contributor "mouser" wrote Point Motivator to help encourage people to get things done. The software focuses the user's attention on a reinforcement score that provides immediate feedback about the person's actions. There's a visual display for showing progress over time, and users can configure tasks and their associated value, and share these configurations with others. The software is meant to help people stay on track with dieting, exercising, schoolwork, and other activities.
For people wondering how much money they have in their coin jar, "hamradio" has written the Coin Jar Calculator. The software can estimated the amount of money based on the weight of the jar, and the number of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars, and dollar coins in a handful taken from the container. The program only works with U.S. currency.
For people looking to become instant artists, author "TPReal's" Tim - Image To Text Converter converts an image in either JPG or BMP format into lines of text to create a grayscale picture. The user can choose any mono-spaced font and font size, and any set of allowed characters. The result can be saved as a text file.
As a final example, developer "CodeTrucker" has written the Trucker's Log Watch to help big-rig drivers log the amount of time they're on the road, off duty, or sleeping. "Basically, this is a program I'll be using in my truck driving to make sure I can stay nice and legal on my logs," the author said on the site.
DonationCoder.com was founded nearly three years ago by Jesse Reichler, who at the time was a doctorate graduate student at the University of Illinois. The site is now run by a cooperative of moderators.

sugar size Bible.
Israeli scientists have inscribed the entire Hebrew text of the Jewish Bible onto a space less than half the size of grain of sugar.
The nanotechnology experts at the Technion institute in Haifa say the text measures less than 0.5 square millimeter (0.01 square inch) surface. They chose the Jewish Bible to highlight how vast quantities of information can be stored in minimum amounts of space.
"It took us about an hour to etch the 300,000 words of the Bible onto a tiny silicon surface," Ohad Zohar, the university's scientific adviser for educational programs, told the Associated Press.
The Technion's microscopic bible was created by blasting tiny particles called gallium ions at an object that then rebounded, causing an etching affect.
"When a particle beam is directed toward a point on the surface, the gold atoms bounce off and expose the silicon layer underneath just like a hammer and chisel," Zohar said.
Zohar said the technology will in the future be used as a way to store vast amounts of data on bio-molecules and DNA.
The tiny Bible appears to be the world's smallest.
The previous smallest known copy of the Bible measured 2.8 x 3.4 x 1 centimeters (1.1 x 1.3 x 0.4 inches), weighing 11.75 grams (0.4 ounces) and containing 1,514 pages, according to Guinness World Records spokeswoman Amarilis Espinoza. The tiny text, obtained by an Indian professor in November 2001, is believed to have originated in Australia.

Lithium Batteries Banned From Checked Bags
Starting Jan. 1, airline passengers will no longer be allowed to pack loose lithium batteries in checked luggage, the U.S. Transportation Department's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration warned late last week.
Instead, passengers will be required to take loose batteries with them in carry-on baggage, packed in plastic bags. The new regulation, which will go into effect in order to lessen the risk of lithium battery fires, won't apply to lithium batteries that are already installed in electronic devices, such as laptops, cell phones, and cameras. Those can be checked in.
Additionally, only two spare rechargeable lithium batteries will be allowed on airplanes per passenger in carry-on bags.
The international rule will become U.S. law on Tuesday.
"Doing something as simple as keeping a spare battery in its original retail packaging or a plastic zip-lock bag will prevent unintentional short-circuiting and fires," said Krista Edwards, deputy administrator of the PHMSA, in a statement.
The administration is treating lithium batteries as hazardous materials since they're known for overheating and catching fire in some conditions. Tests conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration show that aircraft cargo fire suppression systems on airplanes are incapable of containing fires caused by nonrechargeable lithium batteries packaged in bulk quantities.
A small fire source is enough to ignite a lithium battery. The outer plastic coating can melt easily and fuse neighboring batteries together to increase the intensity of the fire, according to a June 2004 report published by the Office of Aviation Research.
In a situation where a lithium battery ignites in carry-on baggage, flight crews can better monitor the fire since they have access to fire extinguishers.
There have been several instances in the past year that have raised red flags about lithium batteries.
In October, a resident of Douglasville, Ga., claimed that his Apple iPod nano caught fire in his pocket. The iPod nano uses a lithium ion battery, which packs higher power density than a nickel-based battery.
Toshiba in June reported that a Sony lithium battery was responsible for a notebook computer bursting into flames. Since August 2006, Apple, Dell, Lenovo, and Toshiba have recalled lithium batteries used in notebook computers manufactured by Sony.

One TB of storage capacity translates to 1,000 hours of video, or more than 350 feature length movies or 250,000 four-minute songs.
As a world leading notebook PC brand, ASUS continues to develop cutting-edge products that offer the best solution in great designs. With the new multimedia notebook series, the M50 and the M70, ASUS aims to provide a high-definition audio and video experience. The HD experience starts with a sleek LCD cover made by exclusive ASUS Infusion technology. Upon opening the notebook, users are greeted with a multimedia console-like design with an ergonomic full-size keyboard and a separate numerical keypad. To further enhance the entertainment enjoyment, the dual-mode touch pad allows easy access to playback controls.
ASUS selected Hitachi Travelstar drives for its M50 and M70 series notebooks because they allow users to store more digital content than any other mobile drive on the market today. Consumers expect their notebook PCs to be entertainment powerhouses, storing and providing easy access to massive libraries of high-definition movies, music and photos. The new Travelstar 5K500 addresses these requirements with the features, design innovations and technologies that enhance the entertainment experience.
The Travelstar 5K500 features Hitachi's Rotational Vibration Safeguard (RVS) technology to mitigate any adverse impact on system performance from unexpected vibrations or shocks to the system enclosure. RVS serves as an "early warning" system for the drive, enabling it to sense a possible vibration in advance and take the necessary steps to stabilize the drive head. RVS is particularly important for many of today's full-featured notebooks that include premium speakers for enhancing a user's experience with movies, music and games. When played at maximum volumes, notebook speakers can inadvertently cause vibrations that may not be noticeable to the user.
"Digital entertainment on-the-go is growing rapidly and notebooks are being used to run more powerful, memory-intensive applications," said Tony Chen, General Manager of ASUS Notebooks Business. "Our notebooks with the Hitachi Travelstar 5K500 provide the answer to users who demand systems that combine large storage capacities with desktop-class performance and features."
"One TB represents a major advancement in notebook computing and we are pleased to be at the heart of this industry milestone," said Larry Swezey, director, Consumer and Commercial HDD, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. "We will continue to deliver the best that storage technology has to offer, solidifying Hitachi's position as the segment and technology leader in 2.5-inch hard drives."
Since entering the 2.5-inch segment in 1991, Hitachi has led innovations in the form factor for every measurable category: areal density, performance, power management, acoustics, shock tolerance, reliability and breadth of product options. Hitachi Travelstar drives continue to be the most popular 2.5-inch hard drives on the market today.
